During your stay, you'll enjoy two daily activities, the first starting in the morning after breakfast, before the midday heat, and the second following lunch in the afternoon or early evening. Daily activities are scheduled based on group interests, seasonality, and current weather conditions. Here's what you can expect today:
This morning, after breakfast, you'll embark on a horse riding adventure, experiencing the region's cattle farming practices. Riding through the open fields, marshes, capões, ridges, streams, and bays of the Pantanal, you'll encounter a rich variety of lush flora and fauna, characteristic of this well-preserved area. The horses are calm, making the tour suitable for riders of all levels. With your experienced local guide, you can choose from several routes of varying lengths, suitable for both flood and dry seasons.
The hottest part of the day is yours to relax. After lunch, you'll head out for an open Jeep photo safari, covering diverse landscapes such as cerrado, open grasslands, vazantes, and brejos, perfect for observing Pantanal wildlife. During the trip, there will be stops for on-foot exploration. Upon returning to the ranch in the evening, you'll embark on a nocturnal tour using a powerful flashlight to observe night animals like anteaters, foxes, capybaras, and caimans. You'll also experience the nighttime sounds of frogs and insects, and marvel at the beautiful Pantanal sky.
Start your day with breakfast before embarking on your daily activity. Explore the Aquidauana River and the surrounding forest aboard a boat, the optimal way to admire the natural habitat of birds, mammals, and reptiles that often sunbathe along the riverbanks. This tranquil tour, lasting 2 to 3 hours, provides life jackets for your safety. Your local guide will expertly navigate the boat, occasionally switching off the engine to allow you to drift downstream with the river current, immersing yourself in the serene sounds of nature.
As the day warms up, take the opportunity to rest during the midday. After lunch, embark on a trekking adventure through dense bush, open fields, and forest. This hike offers a closer look at the region's flora and fauna, providing insights into their vital roles in the Pantanal ecosystem. With various route options ranging from an hour and a half to four hours, you can tailor the trek to your preferences in consultation with your knowledgeable local guide.
After your morning activity, you will leave Aguape Lodge via private transfer and be taken to your hotel in Bonito.
*Lunch at the lodge before departure is included if your flight schedule allows.
