Return flights from Quito to Coca are included with the local supplier for the start of your Amazon adventure. Upon arrival in Quito, please follow the indications to board your connecting flight to Coca in the Amazon.

Upon arrival in Coca airport, you will be warmly received by a member of the Sacha Lodge team. They will escort you to their local office, where you can take a moment to rest, enjoy a morning tea, or use the facilities. Your host will then guide you on a 2-hour and 30-minute adventure to the Lodge.

The journey commences with a picturesque boat ride along the Napo River, providing opportunities to spot wildlife. Upon disembarking from the small boat, your guide will lead you on a 30-minute walk through the jungle on an elevated platform—an ideal chance to absorb the vibrant energy of the jungle and, with luck, observe wildlife such as monkeys and birds. At the trail's end, you will board a canoe with your guide, who will paddle across the lake to reach the lodge.

Upon your arrival at Sacha Lodge around lunchtime, you will receive a warm welcome and then embark on your first forest expedition. After returning and savoring dinner, you'll engage in a nighttime adventure, which may involve snake spotting in the jungle or a tranquil canoe ride among the caimans on the lake.

A typical day at Sacha Lodge commences at sunrise or even earlier, capitalizing on the cool morning hours when the rainforest's vibrant wildlife is at its most active. Guests coordinate a preferred wake-up time, at which point their dedicated guide will kindly awaken them to kickstart the day's adventures. Breakfast follows half an hour after this wake-up call.

Sacha Lodge presents an extensive array of activities designed to immerse guests in the vibrant energy of the Amazon jungle, ensuring a multifaceted exploration experience. These activities include the Canopy Walk, Parrot Clay Lick, Canopy Observation Tower, Butterfly House, Creek Paddling, Caiman Spotting, Bird Watching, Interpretation Center, and a serene Lake Pool for swimming. Moreover, the lodge features an exceptional Canopy Exploration Crane, thoughtfully constructed to offer a safe and comfortable vantage point for observing jungle canopy wildlife.

Our excursions proceed at a leisurely pace, allowing you to appreciate the captivating details pointed out by our guides. You may start your day with serene canoe rides along black-water creeks and lakes, observing lush vegetation and wildlife. Afterward, a motorized canoe trip along the Napo River takes you to the Yasuní-based Providencia Community, providing cultural insights and parrot sightings at a clay lick.

After your morning adventures, you'll return to the Lodge for lunch at 1 PM. You'll have free time to relax between lunch and afternoon activities, allowing you to lounge by the Balsa or unwind in the Lake Pool. Activities typically resume in the late afternoon and can extend into the evening, featuring treks through Terra Firme forest, guided by your expert. Another option is a visit to the Canopy Walk, a 940-foot (275-meter) treetop bridge, offering a unique perspective to spot a variety of wildlife.

Days at Sacha Lodge do not end with the fading of the light, or even with dinner. Night walks and canoe trips, with the aid of flashlights, often reveal creatures seldom seen during daylight. Caimans and giant insects rule the jungle after sunset. Would you dare search for them?

Enjoy breakfast before heading out on more memorable guided excursions with a list of possible wildlife to spot. No two days are the same, so whatever you haven't had the opportunity to see or do, will be ready and waiting for you today.

This morning presents a unique opportunity to observe wildlife from the elevated vantage point of the Kapok Tower, nestled atop a massive tree in the heart of the jungle canopy. Ascend to the summit of the 135-foot (43-meter) observation tower, perched on the branches of a colossal kapok tree, offering an unparalleled view of the world below. The panoramic spectacle unfolds, revealing the vast expanse of the forest, and making it effortless to spot some of the 500 species of birds inhabiting the area. Marvel at the vibrant toucans and parrots that grace the skies.

After your morning activity, you will return to the lodge for lunch around 13pm. Enjoy free time between lunch and your afternoon adventure, embracing the tranquility of the lodge and its surroundings. Head out again between 3pm and 4pm for further explorations of the Amazon.

Embark on a afternoon boat ride along the peaceful creeks surrounded by lush vegetation. Glide through the waterways, enchanted by the symphony of bird calls and the playful antics of monkeys. Following this adventure, immerse yourself in the vibrant world of butterflies at our Butterfly House. Home to nearly 40 local butterfly species, the live exhibition conservatory allows you to witness the breeding and raising process. Wander through "the flying room," where hundreds of colorful butterflies flutter, providing an up-close encounter with various species. Transparent glass-wing butterflies, striking blue morphs, and other mesmerizing butterflies await, ensuring a day filled with wonder in the heart of the Amazon.

Enjoy an early breakfast before departing the lodge for your return journey to Coca and board your flight back to Quito.
