Travelling solo down the Amazon River. At the time I wondered if it was a good idea, in the end I had an experience that would change my life for the better as I found my personal boundaries had widened.”
Not everyone has to be that daring but simply getting out into the big wide world offers so many life enriching moments. There’s nothing better than getting off the beaten track and exploring somewhere new.
Personally, I’ve always been a bit of an explorer, even from a young age my mother use to say ‘you can’t fence Megan in’. And in true explorer spirit, after spending three months exploring Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia, I decided I wanted to stay and so spent the next year working as an expedition leader, driving a truck twice around the entirety of South America, carrying up to 23 passengers at any given time.
Even settled in Australia my inner adventurer runs on, through my work for Chimu Adventures. What we offer customers is genuinely specialist. I love the attention that’s paid to providing the best products to suit each client's individual needs, no pigeon holing, no "follow the rose" no fences! As soon as I read about the company, all those years ago, I knew instantly that I could feel passionate about marketing it, over a decade later and I still do.
Having experienced Chimu on the ground in both Antarctica on my own and in South America with my precious cargo, my two sons, I can hold my head high and say, "it is the only way to travel". The only difficult decision to make is when to go! I cant wait to get back!
