Join us on this unforgettable and luxurious adventure to Antarctica and the South Pole. This 8-day journey begins with a flight by A340 (or similar) or private jet from Cape Town to Wolf's Fang Runaway, your first point of contact on the surreal and majestic continent. Choose from two camps: Whichaway Oasis - a luxury collection of hi-tech polar domes - you will undertake a number of unique adventures completely tailored to suit your needs and wants, or the newly built Echo Camp, which is inspired by the seminal age of Space exploration.
Whichaway Camp will serve as your launching pad for a range of activities completely tailored to suit your needs for the day - do as little or as much as you want. With only 12 guests, your professional guides will expand your horizons in this wonderful land of discovery. From climbing, hiking, or a range of wellness activities - your days among the frozen waves of ice and captivating mountain ranges are yours to command. This is a truly transformative experience, combining the highest degree of luxury and safety to offer a completely tailored experience and one of the most unique you can undertake in Antarctica.
Echo Camp sits in solitude with space-age designed 'Sky Pods', which almost look like they have been beamed down from Mars. On the inside an 'Art Deco' paradise awaits. The camp accommodates a maximum of 12 guests and allows you to combine the ultimate in luxury with a range of adventure activities on the 7th Continent. You have the option to Abseil into camp and can select from a wide range of included activities such as fat-biking, skiing, ice climbing and camping out in the wilderness.
Bear witness to the incredible natural spectacle of newly hatched Emperor penguin chicks at Atka bay. After a short flight from your camp, you will arrive at the magnificent Atka Bay, home to over 14000 pairs of breeding emperor penguins and their newly hatched chicks. With so few visitors to the region, these incredibly curious creatures are mostly unphased by human contact, often approaching close by - making for fantastic photography opportunities.
Following this unforgettable natural spectacle you will have the rare opportunity to visit the geographic south pole. The very lowest point of Earth, the South pole is the marvelous encapsulation of a true expedition experience. Marvel at a place where there is no more east, west or south - only north. This is a truly unique experience where few have travelled before. You will travel 7 hours, landing on a polar plateau to refuel and get a real sense of the immense scale of Antarctica. When you land at the South Pole visit Amundsen-Scott South Pole station and see the designated marker of the lowest point on earth, where you can only go North and you can walk around the world in just a few paces!
The rest of your days on the continent will be spent undertaking a number of adventure options - all of which can be as adrenaline filled or as relaxing as you see fit. With only 12 guests on each adventure your guides will ensure the highest degree of safety and flexibility with each activity. Whether its biking, hiking, or simply enjoying the various wellness facilities the days are yours as you see fit.

Today we fly over thousands of icebergs on a 5-hour flight across the Southern Ocean to Antarctica. During the flight, we enter the Polar Circle and encounter the continuous daylight of the Antarctic summer. After landing on the ancient blue ice of the runway, you will transfer to the Echo camp and take a gentle hike around this timeless location.
Settle into the Echo Camp and do as much or as little as you like each day. Activities range from yoga, massages, and gentle treks to exploring the incredible ice waves, summiting a nunatak, ice climbing and even abseiling! On quieter days, you will hear talks from our polar explorer staff about some of the lesser-known history of Antarctica and their world record-breaking expeditions.
We fly 2 hours across Antarctica, providing beautiful views of the nearby mountain ranges and coastline, before landing at the emperor penguin colony at Atka Bay. You will be among the very few who have ever witnessed such a spectacle, observing the real-life stars of March of the Penguins.
Here you’ll see over 14,000 breeding pairs and their newly hatched chicks, a spectacle full of noise and energy that is a favourite with wildlife watchers and photographers. There are so few visitors to this colony that the chicks are unafraid of humans and often waddle close by. Mindful of our responsibility to the Antarctic environment and of IAATO guidelines, we keep at least 25m (80ft) from the penguins while taking in all the sights and sounds of this rare wildlife spectacle, which remains one of the greatest thrills on Earth!
We spend the day exploring the ice waves below our camp, delving into the series of ice tunnels that are as surreal as they are beautiful. Later, you will wind your way through the snow and ice to an incredible vantage point where you can take in the panoramic view over the waves that you have just explored.
We leave early in the morning in our aircraft, flying over stunning mountain ranges before landing at 83 Degrees South to refuel. After a walk on the High Polar Plateau we will continue to the South Pole, where you will have plenty of time for photos and a chance to stamp your passport before flying back to 83° South and overnighting in the great wilderness of the Plateau.
At the heart the Great White Continent lies the South Pole, one of only two stationary points on this rotating Earth! At exactly 90 degrees of latitude, you can walk around the world in only a few paces and marvel at a place where there is no more east, south or west – the only direction is north! The American Amundsen-Scott research station is the backdrop to this most exceptional place, whose discovery ranks as one of the greatest feats of human The Amundsen-Scott exploration ever known.
After a night under canvas, you’ll enjoy a hearty breakfast before boarding the plane once again for the flight back to Whichaway Oasis. The flight is the perfect chance to appreciate the immense scale of Antarctica, before you return to our camp for a three-course champagne dinner to celebrate your achievement.
An adventurous hike along a winding cliff face affords guests stunning views over pressure ridges of ice that have been folded over millennia by the ocean. Our world-class mountain guides will lead you on this challenging hike, always ensuring your safety.
The flight out of Antarctica will be the last of your enduring memories of the great White Continent before you dive back into the vibrant energy of Africa. You will be transferred to your hotel where you will have a chance to relax and reflect on your Antarctic adventure!
*Please note that activities are weather-dependent, and the schedule may be adjusted based on ice conditions.
Your base camp for this journey will be the incredible Whichaway Oasis - These high-tech bi-domes are heated state-of-the-art pods designed to offer the highest degree of polar functionality and luxury camp comfort.
You will have the unique opportunity to see recently hatched Emperor penguin chicks - 14000 pairs of breeding emperor penguin chicks wait at Atka bay, for a spectacle of noise and energy that will truly leave a lasting memory.

One step beyond cross-country skiing, in terms of challenge and adventure, mountaineering excursions in Antarctica are the stuff of legends. Push yourself just a little bit further and you can bag an exciting climb to the peak of an Antarctic mountain. Available on selected voyages only and requiring a somewhat decent level of fitness (given the snowy terrain, need for snowshoeing dexterity and uphill walking) mountaineering trips set themselves apart from general snowshoeing excursions, as they cross glaciated areas which require a certain level of care and experience. Groups are usually kept quite small for safety (up to 12 guests), with everyone tied together across the hairiest crevasse crossings. Whilst not an Antarctic activity that’s suitable for everyone, mountaineering is an absolute dream-come-true for the right adventure-seeker.
Learn MoreHiking excursions are among the most popular options in Antarctica as many itineraries are short and suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels. Guided hikes lead you to amazing vantage points and allow even closer interaction with local wildlife, so don’t forget to pack your camera!
Learn MoreCarving the first tracks down a pristine mountain slope is a dream for most ski enthusiasts, and Antarctica offers one of the most unexplored landscapes in the world. Skiing in Antarctica is an exciting mix of picturesque views, pristine landscapes and a variety of wildlife to keep you company. Many tour operators offer skiing as an optional activity, so if you are planning on visiting Antarctica make sure you add this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to your bucket list!
