OVERVIEW

Discover the unparalleled beauty of Antarctica, the 7th continent, with opportunities to encounter extraordinary wildlife close-up as you sail in comfort from Ushuaia to the world’s final frontier.

Cruise through the vast icy wilderness of glaciers, towering rock faces, majestic snow-capped peaks and imposing icebergs. Explore by Zodiac and on foot, as you walk to scenic vantage points, penguin rookeries and seal colonies. Look out for leopard seals and orcas patrolling the waters and albatrosses soaring overhead. The wildlife is mesmerising and the scenery stunningly beautiful. This cruise will leave you with memories to last a lifetime.

ITINERARY

Ushuaia, Argentina

With a population of more than 63,000 people, Ushuaia is the southernmost city in the world. The city has grown over the past few years, yet it has retained an easy going and accessible feel. With the sea to the south and mountains to the north, Ushuaia is a spectacular departure point for your Antarctic cruise. If you arrive early, you can spend some time in the nearby Tierra del Fuego National Park, enjoy some Argentinean wines and steak or succulent lamb dishes in the city, or visit the many boutique shops and cafes before your expedition to Antarctica.

Embarkation Day

You will depart in the late afternoon, after which your vessel will sail down the historic Beagle Channel. This historic channel transects the Tierra del Fuego archipelago in the extreme south of South America. Expect an air of excitement as we depart - the next time you see land we’ll be in the world’s most southern continent!

Crossing the Drake Passage - Days 3 & 4

Prepare yourself for potentially rough water, but hope for a smooth sailing as the Drake is unpredictable and always changing. You’ll spend these first days getting to know your shipmates, while we’ll provide safety briefings and insights into what excitement lies ahead.

South Shetland & Antarctic Peninsula -Days 5 to 8

The most common reaction upon reaching the White Continent is a sense of reverence and awe. The experience is beyond words, since few places are as untouched and enduring as Antarctica. You will begin to appreciate why this region has long captivated the attention of explorers and travelers alike. Every time we visit Antarctica, we witness something new or unexpected, which means that your expedition will be unlike any other—creating a unique, personal experience. Each day, you will take Zodiac excursions from the ship to explore local bays, channels and landing sites. Your Expedition Team will take care of you at each landing, whether you are hiking the Antarctic landscape, visiting a research station or consorting with chinstrap, Adélie and gentoo penguins, all of which can be found here. Keep an eye out for Weddell, fur, crabeater and leopard seals as well as curious whales, such as humpbacks, fins, or perhaps orcas while on a Zodiac cruise. Each excursion will present a new collection of creatures to delight you and keep your camera busy. Amid the serene silence of Antarctica, noisy interludes become indelible memories, such as penguins squabbling over prized pebbles, or the boom and crack of a calving glacier.

Drake Passage to Ushuaia - Days 9 & 10

The journey back across the Drake Passage provides you with some final opportunities to enjoy the crisp Antarctic air. Spend time on the deck watching for seabirds and scouting for whales, enjoy a few final presentations by your Expedition Team or simply relax and reminisce about your experiences.

Disembarkation in Ushuaia

We’ll arrive in Ushuaia in the morning for you to continue your adventure on land or catch your flight home.

*** Important - Please be sure not to book flights out of Ushuaia before 12PM (Noon) on the day of disembarkation from your cruise ship.
